MEMORANDUM FOR: Coordinator for Academic Relations, NFAC
SUBJECT: Request to Speak at the School for Advanced
International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins
University
I request approval to speak at a graduate seminar on the
Chinese Economy at the School of Advanced International Studies
on the evening of 6 March 1980. Mr. James Lilley, former NIO
for China, teaches this seminar and has asked that I speak to
his class, as I have done on two previous occasions when Mr.
Lilley was NIO. The subject of the talk will be on use of
historical analogy by the Chinese to debate domestic and
international issues. The subject matter is unclassified
and does not relate to my current work in OSR. I would be
remunerated for this two-hour session and there would be no
cost to the government.
STATINTL
Policy and Doctrine Team, SEC/OSR
I have reviewed the subject matter
STATINTL with Il and found it to be
unclassified.
