Dear
October 25, 1978
Thank you very much for arranging and
moderating the briefing session for the
International Fellows last week. The session
went very well, and was precisely the type of
program we desired. We consider it important
to meet with CIA officials equipped with the
expertise and experience necessary to provide
real insights into the workings of the Agency,
and we felt the session last week answered
this need very well indeed. The Fellows found
the briefing both informative and interesting,
and we appreciate all you did to make it so
successful,
It was a pleasure working with you, and
thanks once again for everything.

Dear Malcolm:
This is to confirm the arrangements that you and I have made
for the visit by the International Fellows of Columbia University to
CIA Headquarters the afternoon of 20 October. Mr. Walsh, Associate
Director-Management, National Foreign Assessment Center, will
address the group at 2:00 pm. After his presentation, which with
a question period should last about an hour, I have arranged for a
panel of senior analysts from NFAC to be available for an open
question and answer period, similar to that-run during your 6 April
visit.
I am looking forward to meeting you and hope this trip will be
as successful as previous visits.
Sincerely,
STATINTL

MEMORANDUM FOR: NFAC Security Officer
FROM : Associate Coordinator for Academic Relations
SUBJECT : Request for Security Clearances and Security
Escort(s)
1. Attached is a list of names and dates of birth of a group
of 51 students and three staff members from Columbia University
(International Fellows Program) who will be visiting the Agency on
20 October 1978. The group will be receiving unclassified briefings
by NFAC representatives. Please note that there are three persons
on the list who are not US citizens (see asterisks). They will
arrive at approximately 2:00 pm and depart at 4:00 pm.
2. Due to the large number of visitors and to maintain proper
security precautions with this group, it is requested that Hqs Security
Branch provide at least two security escorts to assist in taking them
to Room GA13, to monitor the GA corridor (during the briefing hours of
2:00 to 4:00 pm) and to return the group to the Hqs Receptionist.
Any assistance provided in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
You may contact me on extension 784$ to discuss this request further
if needed.
