Critical Technologies Required by the IC, 1985-1995 of the IC Staff presented the draft results of the Critical Technologies Panel to determine critical technol- ogies required by the Intelligence Community through 1995. 2. Collection Against Foreign Satellites* briefed the Committee on trends in Soviet use of high altitude satellites and implications for US Intelligence efforts to analyze them. A set of collection requirements were proposed for review by the WSSIC and forwarded to the DCI. The Committee asked the SSS to provide additional background and justification to these requirements. MNS Alternatives Study BMSS formed to consider alternatives to the MNS collection program. The panel responded to four specific questions posed by the Director INR to the DDCI. The panel's draft included several NSA reserves. The NSA member of the WSSIC presented a new draft at the meeting to take into consideration their concerns. This draft was reviewed and, with further changes, approved by the WSSIC.
