Intelligence"
Attached is the subject witness list for
tommorrow's hearing.
Mr. Steve Garfinkel of GSA's Information
Security Oversight Office asked if Ms. Ethel
Theis of his staff could sit in on the hearing,
in case something of. relevance to his
responsibilities came up. In discussing this
with Mr. Briggs and Mr. Hutchinson, they expressed
concern that the hearing might get into some
sensitive/compartmented.issues, and suggested
that it might be best for her not to come.
said he didn't see any reason
create a pro ocal/political problem by
excluding her, but acknowledged that it is a
"need to know" issue that only you can decide.
I've told Mr. Garfinkel that I would get
him copies of the testimony, and brief him on
the questions that were asked. While he
appreciated the gesture,.he was clearly
disappointed that his office would not be
allowed to attend. What are your feelings on
