SUBJECT: CIA Input to CIRIS
1. The GIRIS instructions for the inputs to be made in
Calendar Year 1972 have been reviewed, by the Executive
Director-Comptroller and. O/PPB. We propose to submit
our input in accordance with the following schedule and.
procedures.
2. A Form 2812 will be submitted, for the Agency as a
whole as follows:
a. For FY 1972 and. FY 1973 (based. on
the FY 1973 Congressional Budget submission) --
31 March 1972.
b. For FY 1974 (based on DCI's program
decision) -- 15 July 1972.
c. Updated. FY 1972-74 information --
15 October 1972.
3. Form 2812a data for FY 1972 and. FY 1973 will be sub-
mitted, on 15 June 1972. Data will be aggregated. by Mission,
Function, activity, sensor, and. platform for the Agency as a
whole rather than by individual office or directorate.

4. Because of the modification of the Agency resource
management system now in progress, we wish to reduce the
work load on the directorates and. require only a single sub-
mission from them for both CIRIS and the Agency program.
The Agency submission will not incorporate a detailed. subject
target breakout this year but will make extensive use of the
more general subject "baskets" which CIRIS provides rather
than move now to a more detailed. breakout within the "baskets.
5. The Agency system does not provide for cost category
and, appropriation breakouts by geographic and subject target.
For this reason such data will be provided only in an aggregated.
form in the Agency submission.
6. It is understood, that FY 1974 data will not be required
on Form 28lZa.
