Thank you for your letter of 2 July requesting the
Agency's assistance in providing a witness (possibly a Cuban
defector) to appear at an open hearing on the link between
narcotics and terrorism.
I directed that a thorough check be made, but I am sorry
to advise that we do not have such a person available to
assist you; however, if it would be helpful to you, we would
like to provide you with a classified briefing as background
information for the hearing. Such a briefing would present
considerable detail on Cuban involvement in narcotics.
