SUBJECT: Vacant Positions
I am very anxious that we fill all our vacant positions. Next year
may be an extremely lean one position-wise, even if Congress gives us
what we request. Moreover, it is conceivable that government agencies
will be frozen at on-board levels and our case for more positions next
fiscal year will be weakened considerably in that debate if we have
vacant positions at the end of this fiscal year. Filling those positions
should therefore be considered essential by all.
