Your recent letter to the Vice President has been referred to this
Agency for consideration and reply.
We are always pleased to learn of young people who are interested
in careers in the intelligence profession. I am enclosing two brochures
which describe our professional and clerical requirements.
As our needs are constantly changing, it is difficult for us to
predict what our requirements will be at the time of your graduation.
Therefore, I hesitate to counsel you as to what courses you should take.
Many courses may lead to employment if the individual has a good academic
record. A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is normally
required to-be considered for professional positions with this Organization.
I might add that we look on it as a plus when an individual has a knowledge
of history, interest in and familiarity with international affairs and a
knowledge of foreign languages.
Thank you for your interest in this Agency. Best wishes for
continued success in your academic program.
Sincerely,
Robert W. Magee
