Lauder Director of Public Affairs SUBJECT: Invitation to Attend Electronic Industries Association Dinner 1. Action Requested: Accept or decline invitation to attend Electronic Industries Associations Annual Government-Industry dinner, 10 April, 8:00 p.m., at the J. W. Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C. 2. Background: Mr. Peter F. McCloskey, President of the Electronic Industries Association (EIA), invites you to be a guest at the head table for their Annual Government-Industry dinner. (See attached biography of McCloskey.) A reception begins at 7:00 p.m., and a head table reception at 7:30 p.m. before entering the ballroom at the J. W. Marriott Hotel for dinner at 8:00 p.m. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Margaret Heckler, is the guest speaker. Allen E. Puckett, Chairman of the Board of Hughes Aircraft Company, will receive EIA's highest award, the Medal of Honor. (See attached biography.) EIA has some 400 members whose companies are engaged in the design and production of the full spectrum of electronic products. (See attached information on EIA.) 3. Recommendation: This is a respected industrial association. Should your schedule permit, you may wish to attend. Please indicate your preference, and my staff will make the necessary arrangements. Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C. It is a pleasure to invite you, on behalf of the Board of Governors, to be our guest at the headtable at this black-tie event. We are honored to have the Secretary of Health and Human Services, The Honorable Margaret Heckler, as our guest speaker.
