SUBJEC. : Comparative Evaluations
1. I understand from Pete Scoville that the comparison on
Computer Technology, being done by a blue-ribbon outside panel
assembled by Killian, is now completed. Pete says it is mostly,
on Russian technology using ours as a benchmark, and regards it
as having been a good way to get a lot of top talent into review
of what we know.
2. The conparison on Long Range kissiles is also in final
draft (Barnes has copy if you want to see it). The one thing to
keep in mind is that the Director raised at the last meettng of
the Group my suggestion for a comparison on Lead-Times, and
promised that at the next meeting be would reort on whether
we had enough intelligence material to permit a useful comparison.
The OST studies =which my proposal was based are now completed
and we must simply be sure that DC1 bas a brief on this subject
for his next meeting.
