United States, Iraqi Airlines Office Bombed in Hollywood.
California The Iraqi Airlines office in Hollywood was
damaged by a bomb explosion the evening of
5 April. An anti-Arab message was tele-
phoned to a news agency in Los Angeles after
the blast.
United States, Iraqi Mission to the United Nations
New York Firebombed.
The Iraqi Mission to the United Nations was
firebombed on 10 April with only minor dam-
age. Police believe members of the Jewish
Defense League are responsible.
29 June 1975 Lebanon, Beirut U.S. Army Colonel Kidnapped.
U.S. Army Colonel Ernest Morgan was abducted
from a taxi in Beirut on 29 June by armed
terrorists. A group identifying itself as
the Revolutionary Socialist Action Organiza-
tion claimed it was holding the colonel and
demanded that the U.S. Embassy distribute
food and buiidi;.g si:pplies to a poor Moslem
neighborhood. Pressure reed by the PLO
and the governments of Syria and Lebanon on

the PFLP-GC, the grn1:p chiefly responsible
for the kidnapping, finally resulted in the
colonel's 'elease on 12 July. Wealthy Leba-
nese and Palestinians organized and financed
the distribution of food staples in a Beirut
slum in order to facilitate the colonel's
release.
