Statistics for 1974
On the evening of 20 May, Mr. William Hyland,
Director of INK, Department of State requesi:ed 1974 data
on UK steel production and exports. This information 25X1A9A
was to be forwarded by Mr. Hyland to Secr~tar Kissin er.
A 2200 hours, 20 May, deadline was imposed.
I,/WE analyst responsible for EC steel developmen s,
responded to the request and provided the appropriate
? information. The data were LDX'ed to the State Department
before the deadline and presumably were transmitted
to Secretary Ki~.singer in Europe.
