Records Management Division
RMD personnel are conducting a survey of filing equipment in the Office
of Imagery Analysis; assisting OW in the development of their new medical
forms; coordinating the microfilming of records for a sensitive Agency
project; and converting the ISS automated DECAL system from the OCR/AEGIS
system to ODP/GIMS.

5. Analysis
a. Plans are now-being made for the fourth annual F0I/PA
symposium, which will be held on 17-19 September 1980. The theme
for this year is "FOI/PA: The Intelligence Community and the
Customer." The previous annual sessions have dealt with the Free-
dom of Information and Privacy Acts, as such; the problems involved
in dealing with the Acts over the long haul; and the impact of the
Acts on the intelligence community as a whole. Our next logical
step, therefore, is to look at the Acts from the perspective of the
requester. We hope to arrange for representative outside speakers,
from within the
as well as hearing from knowledgeable persons

b. Some statistical data comparing our workload/production on
initial requests for the first half of CY 1980 with the correspond-
ing period for CY 1979 are presented in the table below. The
number of new requests logged has increased only slightly, while
the number of cases completed is down considerably. The manpower
expended in administering these programs, however, has signifi-
cantly increased. (The manpower figures cover actions on appeals
and litigation as well as initial requests.)
