PROCUREMENT DIVISION WEEKLY REPORT FOR
PERIOD ENDING 11 April 1984
1. Progress Report of Tasks Assigned by the DCI/DDCI:
No tasks assigned during this reporting period.
2. Items or Events of Major Interest That Have Occurred During the
Preceding Week:
a. Office of Data Processin (ODP) Request for Proposal (RFP)
84B-236: The source Evaluation Board (SEB) has recommended that
negotiations be conducted with 3 of the 4 bidders who responded to
this RFP for System Development/Enhancement. Upon conclusion of
negotiations, two separate cost plus fixed fee contracts will
awarded for the remainder of FY-84 with options for FY-85-87.
b. Agency "Federal Acquisition Regulations" (FAR) Implementation:
In connection with Government-wide implementation of the new Federal
Acquisition Regulations (FAR), a contract has been initiated on
behalf of the Procurement Management Staff, OL, with Sterling
Institute to review and analyze Agency produced FAR documentation.
The results of this contract will be written recommendations and a
briefing to senior procurement personnel regarding the Agency's
implementation of the FAR.

c. Relocation of Headquarters Telephone Cables: P&SCB has received
a priority request from Office of Communications (OC) to contract
for the relocation of telephone cables that presently run through
the area where the new headquarters building will be located. It
appears at this point, that the contract will be sole sourced to the
Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia (C&P), because
they own the telephone cable and the junction boxes which by Federal
Regulations gives C&P the option to perform this service. Further
research is being done in this area. A fact finding session will be
held with C&P on 10 April 1984 and an acceptable cost proposal is
anticipated by 12 April 1984.
