Progress Report of Tasks Assigned by the DCI/DDCI: No tasks assigned during this reporting period. 2. Items or Events of Major Interest That Have Occurred During the Preceding Week: a. Power Requests For WANG Iinstallations: A request for assistance was received from Logistics Services Division (LSD) for resolution of Wang power distribution which was previously accomplished by General Services Administration (GSA). Expansion of the Wang contract was suggested by LSD as a way to accomplish power distribution for Wang terminals. Two possibilities were suggested to LSD--expansion of the current Wang contract by ECR/ECP or initiation of a separate contract to fulfill the previous GSA effort for all power distribution. Either way a SOW/requirements document needs to be prepared. c. Acquisition of Power Supply/Support System Battery Cell: Production and Services Contracts Branch P&SCB PD/OL and the Office of Technical Services (OTS) visited Duracell of Tarrytown, New York to review several ongoing contracts for battery cells as well as discuss a current requirement for six hundred additional units. During the discussions, it was learned that excess units were being produced under firm fixed price contracts. Agreement was reached with Duracell to release the excess units. This action will account for material acquired for government use valued in excess of $40,000. 3.
