1. Progress Report of Tasks Assigned by the DCI/DDCI:
No tasks assigned during this reporting period.
2. Items or Events of Major Interest That Have Occurred During the
Preceding Week:
a. Quality Problem with Printer Ribbons in Stock for Wang Word
Processing Equipment: The Supply Division (SD/OL), informed General
Procurement Branch (GPB/PD/OL), that numerous complaints are being
received concerning the quality of the printer ribbons being stocked
for the Wang Word Processing equipment. GPB is obtaining printer
ribbons from five vendors in order to test, evaluate, and determine
which printer ribbons will be purchased for stock issue. Meanwhile,
an order has been placed with Wang Laboratories to purchase an
adequate supply of ribbons until this situation can be resolved.
Ribbons are due in and should be available in approximately two
weeks.
