2. Items or Events of Major Interest that have Occurred During
the Preceding Week:
a. Ames, Key, Chamber of Commerce Buildings Parking Access
Controls - On 1 June 1984, representatives of RECD and LF,PLD
met with the Lessors of the Key Building regarding the lease
terms and conditions. The major items of concern to all
parties were agreed to. Several minor issues remain to be
resolved, and the attorne s for the Charles E. Smith Management
Company an&F-- of LtPLD will resolve these issues.
Also on 1 June 1984, the three sites were surveyed by the
contractor, who has been requested to provide a turn-key opera-
tion. An updated price quotation is pending from this contrac-
tor.
The Lessors of the Ames Building are reviewing the Agency's
proposed lease package. Several adjustments have been request-
ed and discussions are continuing on this lease.
b. Proposed Training Site, Office of Communications - A
RECD representative accompanied the Director and Deputy Direc-
tor of Communications to inspect a facility in the vicinity of

c. Office Space Available at Chamber of Commerce - The
Office of Training has informed RECD it can make immediate use
of the 4,000 square feet of space which is currently available
on the ground floor of the C of C Building. In the meantime,
C/RECD, was advised by the Lessor of his willingness to leave
this 4,000 sq. ft. vacant for a short period of time, or to
lease it to the Agency from month to month at an "attractive
rate". The Lessor is taking the initiative to prepare a sketch
he space for our consideration.
f. Northwest Federal Credit Union Screen Room for the
Office of Data Processing - The General Services Administration
(GSA) is preparing a letter for the manager of the Northwest
Federal Credit Union (NFCU) informing them that the Agency has
been delegated authority to contract directly for the installa-
tion of a screen room in the basement of that facility.
g. Delegation from the General Services Administration for
the Installation of Communications Equipment by the Agency -
GSA has signed a Delegation of Authority to the Director of
Central Intelligence Agency for the installation or upgrading
of required communications equipment for both leased and
Government-owned facilities that are under the control of GSA.
