Progress Report of Tasks Assigned by the DCI/DDCI: No tasks assigned during this reporting period. 2. Items or Events of Major Interest That Have Occurred During the Preceding Week: a. Headquarters Secure Telephone System (HSTS): Production & Services. Contracts Branch (P&SCB/PD/OL) currently has requisitions for peripheral items and services to the Headquarters Secure Telephone System (HSTS), specifically, a Centralized Maintenance and Administrative Center (CMAC) from the Stromberg Carlson Corporation and an annual services contract from the Utilities Marketing & Development Company (UMD). c. Systematics General Corp.- Negotiations Of Redeterminable Price: The Contractor submitted a final claim as required by the provisions of the Fixed Price Redeterminable contract. A contract amendment was issued to reflect this conversion and to release the withholdings redeterminable portion of the contract. G-0725). d. Request For Proposal (RFP) 84B-322: Message Handling Facility (MHF), received seven affirmative intentions to bid out of nine contractors contacted. Proposals are to be submitted no later than 27 July with award anticipated circa 1 September 1984. The objective of this RFP is to procure a software development and implementation design to improve the automated cable services for the Office of Communications. The cable services are presently provided by the Cable Dissemination System (CDS) and Automated Communications Terminal (ACT). New IBM Hardware Proposal: IBM has provided an unsolicited Firm Fixed Price proposal for equipment to support ODP's FY 84-85 computer requirements. The proposal also includes optional equipment to support ODP's future (FY 86-FY 91) requirements. The commercial price of all the equipment offered totals $75M. IBM has offered a discount off their commercial price which adjusts their offer to $52M. ODP is reviewing the offer in the overall context of future ODP hardware needs. f. Motor Pool Branch (MPB) Request for Mini-Buses: A "Priority" request for two transit commercial mini-buses was received in General Procurement Branch (GPB/PD/OL) from the Motor Pool Branch, Headquarters Operations Maintenance and Engineering Division (MPB/HOME/OL). These vehicles are not only for the replacement of currently used vans, but also to enhance the Motor Pool's ability to meet the increasing transportation needs. 3.
