SUBJECT: Office of Security Significant Activities
Week of 27 November - 3 December 1986
1. This memorandum is for information only.
2. The activities of the Office of Security (OS) during
the week of 27 November - 3 December 1986 were highlighted by
the following items:
*a. On 1 December, Office of Security personnel provided
technical support on Capitol Hill during the appearance of Carl
Ford, National Intelligence Officer, before the House Foreign
*c. As part of the ongoing Security Issues Program, OS
personnel briefed DDI/ALA/Support Staff on the clearance
process; and DDI/EUR personnel were briefed on suitability
issues. Thus far, over 40 briefings have been presented to a
cross sect~of Agency components relative to current security
d. OS personnel met with representatives of Atlantic
Research Corporation (ARC) for a briefing concerning
modifications developed by ARC to eliminate TEMPEST
deficiencies in various field installations. This task is
being transferred to~~ahere further testing in a simulated
field station configuration will be conducted.

OD&E information distribution system These test
results will be used in conjunction wi previously completed
zone testing results to determine if any TEMPEST hazards
exist.
