MEMORANDUM FOR: Chief, Logistics Services Division, OL
FROM: Bruce T. Johnson
Chairman, Fine Arts Commission
SUBJECT: Parking
1. At the last meeting of the Fine Arts Commission, the
.current level of congestion in the West Parking Lot was the
subject of a lengthy discussion. Among the concerns expressed
was the allocation of a significant number of parking spaces to
apparently inactive motor pool vehicles at a time when the lot is
so crowded that people are parking on the grass near the helipad.
2. I understand that a survey is under way to determine the
causes of the parking overflow in West Parking, and that the
survey is to include questions about the underutilization of
spaces in the more remote lanes of South Parking. While you are
investigating, I would be grateful if you would look into the
possibility that inactive vehicles might be parked in less
desirable space than that now occupied in West. Is it possible
that additional parking for these vehicles could be created at
the back of the motor pool compound?
