SUBJECT: Digital Imagery Processing & Exploitation Symposium
1. Your proposal to have the EXRAND Image Processing Soft Copy
Working Group (IPSCWG) staff the subject symposium was considered by
the IR&DC at its 12 April meeting. I am appreciative of your proposal,
therefore I asked for and received consent to accept your proposal
conditioned by a set of inclusive actions which would enhance the
cross-flow of communications between technologists and users and between
STAT the various applications area of digital processing.
2. So that coordination can start, I recommend a Symposium Steering

Group be established immediately, and so that the Council's best
interests may be served the Chairman of the IR&DC's Image Processing
Working Group (IPWG), who can be reached at
will be the Council's representative. The function
of the Steering Group would be to assure that the agenda (selection
of theme, topics, session chairmen and speakers) will be a collaborative
effort between the IR&DC's IPWG, the IPSCWG and the Defense Steering Group
for Imagery System Support, and that it will reflect optimization of
technology transfer within and between the black and white worlds.
