SUBJECT: Items of Inforration: Signed DoJ Views Letter
and Information on State Laws
1. After extensive deliberations, the Department of
Justice obtained clearance to send to the Congress its views
letter on S. 1615 and H.P. 1524 in which the Department- opposed
both bills. The letter arrived too late to be effective on the
House side and, at this point, may not he effective on the
Senate side either. A copy of the signed letter is attache(f.
