SUBJECT: Presidential Review of the Classification System
1. On this date, the C/SSC contacted the writer
telephonically to offer comments concerning subject.
2. The C/SSC suggests that inquiry be made to
determine if the new Executive Order will deal with SCI
and, if so, will a comprehensive schedule for declassifi-
cation be established, separate and distinct from the
defense classification system. Related to this would
be provisions for protection of SCI and, for that matter,
collateral intelligence information.
