1. Mr. C. R. Anderson, Chief of the Surveys and
Investigations Staff, House Appropriations Committee, by
memorandum dated 24 March 1976 to the DCI requested that four
staff members of the House Appropriations Committee be cleared
in order for them to conduct an investigation
It is my
understanding that these individuals will be conducting an
investigation within CIA for a period of approximately 30 days
and they will be under the cognizance of Mr. John Tams,
Comptroller.

Based on the information available, I granted Top Secret
clearances this date and also advised
Executive Officer/DDA, that they coul e briefed , and
BYE.
3. Please establish individual files on these individuals
and on a backstop basis review the files with the Security
Division, DoD. Special Security Center is being asked to
coordinate the necessary paperwork for the granting of SI,
TK and BYE and to arrange for an expedite briefing through
Mr. John Iams.
4. According to the Director of Security, these individuals
are requesting staff-like access for a period of 30 days.
Accordingly PTOS should arrange for the issuance of YNE Badges.
