Asjyou are aware from recent discussions with) from this office,
the Defense Mapping Agency has established a new office of Telecommunications
Services. The intent of this organization is to centralize the control-of all
DMA communications within a single office. As this new Office gets underway,
itiwill be useful for us to have access to documents, and-assistance from an
experienced communications organization such as yours. Furthermore, as..-we
anticipate. possible future requirements for interconnectivity between the two
networks, it is highly desirable that we.establish standards which are equal-
to yours from the very beginning..
.Weiwould like to'call upon you to provide us with sample documents such-as the
red/black installation standards or examples of equipment standardization
procedures to give us models upon which to build our own documentation.. It
would be beneficial to be able to call upon your staff to provide us with an
occasional briefing on topics such as the COMSEC.threat.
.We are aware that there are other more formal liaison'channels between our
parent organizations; however, we see this association as an informal one,
,more along technical lines, in order to provide an exchange of technological,
operational, and procedural information related to the operation of classified
communications activities..
