Because of your interest in national security and terrorism,
I am enclosing for your consideration three records of hearings
held by the Subcommittee that have been recently published.
The first volume entitled, "DEA Oversight and Budget
Authorization" reviews the activities, programs, and fiscal year
1985 budget of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The second volume is entitled "FBI Oversight and Budget
Authorization" and reviews the accomplishments and events
affecting the Bureau during the preceding year. In addition,
this volume records the discussion between the Subcommittee and
the FBI pursuant to forecasting needs and requirements for the
upcoming year.
The third volume entitled "Legislative Initiatives to Curb
Domestic and International Terrorism" reviews legislative
proposals aimed at addressing the growing problem of
international and domestic terrorism.
In addition, I am also enclosing a copy of a report entitled
Terrorism and Security: "The Italian Experience". The objective
of this research effort was to examine the Italian terrorist
phenomenon and the security measures developed in response at
both the governmental and private levels.
