Lauder Director, Public Affairs Office SUBJECT: Invitation to Attend The National Security Industrial Association's Thirty-First James Forrestal Memorial Award Dinner 1. Action Requested: Accept or decline an invitation for you and Mrs. Casey to attend the National Security Industrial Association's (NSIA) Thirty-first James Forrestal Memorial Award Dinner at the Sheraton Washington Hotel in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, 13 March. 2. Background: President of NSIA Wallace H. Robinson, Jr. has invited you to be one of their dais guests at their Thirty-first Award Dinner. Mrs. Casey would be seated-at another table. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lockheed Corporation Roy A. Anderson has been selected to receive the Forrestal Award for 1984 and will deliver the Forrestal Address. (See opposite for additional information.) Prior to the dinner in the Sheraton Washington Ballroom and separate from the general reception in the Cotillion Ballroom, dais guests will assemble to greet Mr. Anderson from 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the Cotillion Foyer. You and Mrs. Casey were invited to a similar occasion honoring Malcolm Baidrige on 13 October 1983, but were unable to attend due to a previous commitment. NSIA provides industrial counsel and guidance to the Department of Defense, the Armed Forces, and other national security-related agencies of the federal government. It enables business leaders to keep abreast of defense developments, requirements, and policies through conferences, briefing sessions, and visits to military installations. NSIA presents the James Forrestal Memorial Award annually to an outstanding American in the area of industry-government cooperation in the interest of national security.
