Mr. Casey referred your letter of 2 November 1985 to me for response.
He wishes to reiterate that he did enjoy your book, Deep Lie, and I
would not read anything into his comment regarding your "research."
The Central Intelligence Agency is not in a position to assist
authors with their research. I am enclosing all the unclassified
publications available and hope you will find them helpful.
We are an intelligence organization; therefore, I am sure you will
understand, our facilities are not open to the public. Moreover,
logistical problems and security considerations have shown that it is
just not possible for us to have tours.
Your interest in the Agency is appreciated and I regret we cannot be
of more assistance. Best wishes with your book.
