The Colloquium was founded this past spring to provide Yale students with a non-partisan forum for the informed discussion of current political and social issues. Although there are other political organizations at Yale, we hope the Colloquium will provide an opportunity to explore today's important issues in a truly in-depth manner. In formu- lating our program, we are not striving for a meeting every week, but rather for meetings that are consistently valuable to those who attend. Towards this end, we will arrange informal meetings in the days before each keynote speaker arrives to familiarize the group with the key elements of the topic at hand. We would be honored if you would keynote a program on what you see as public misperceptions of the role of the CIA. Also, have these misperceptions prevented the CIA from doing its job? This topic is only a suggestion, we would be thril- led to have you speak on any topic you desire. If you would prefer a panel discussion or a debate - either with Yale professors or anyone else who might interest you - we would be pleased to try and make such arrangements. If you are able to visit us at Yale, we will be happy to take care of your travel expenses, and should you wish to spend the night, it would be our pleasure to act as your hosts. We hope that you will be able to find time in your busy schedule to meet with us. I think you would find it an enjoy- able and rewarding experience, and I am certain that it would do a great deal to rejuvenate political and social discussion at Yale. I look forward to hearing from you. Six cerel.y yp i .Jonathan Gl~eklen Vice President Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2009/12/03: CIA-RDP87M00539R002904750038-1
