Goodson, U.S. Air Force, Retired, will begin a consultant contract with the Committee on Armed Services to support the committee in its activities relating to the Strategic Defense Initiative. General Goodson's contract will run through September 30, 1986. In his capacity as a consultant to the committee, General Goodson will require a clearance. I understand that General Goodson held a Top Secret clearance with the Air Force Office of the Chief of Staff, Studies and Analysis until his retirement on November 1, 1985. We have asked the Office of the Secretary of Defense to grant General Goodson a Top Secret clearance during his consultant contract with the committee. I would appreciate it if General Goodson will be granted a clearance through September 30, 19$6. General Goodson's is and he was born on General Goodson currently holds a Secret clearance with Burdeshaw Associates, Bethesda, Maryland, in his cappll!S% as a consultant with that firm.
