SUBJECT: Status Report re Misurasata Kidnapping of FSLN
Officials
There is no firm information concerning the disposition of Ray
Hooker, Patricia Delgado and Santiago Gonzalez. The following,
however, has come to our attention regarding their abduction:
-- As of 4 October, Misurasata leader Brooklyn Rivera was
considering turning over the three officials to the
International Red Cross. Eden Pastora expressed interest in
trading these officials for Silvio Robelo and two Miskito
Indians.
-- Mid-October reporting reveals that the kidnapping took
place approximately three days after a group of Misurasata
were led into an ambush by a Miskito Creole believed to be an
FSLN informant. Six Misurasata were reported KIA. The three
officials were allegedly captured for their role in arranging
the ambush.
