The following, however, has come to our attention regarding their abduction: -- As of 4 October, Misurasata leader Brooklyn Rivera was considering turning over the three officials to the International Red Cross. Eden Pastora expressed interest in trading these officials for Silvio Robelo and two Miskito Indians. -- Mid-October reporting reveals that the kidnapping took place approximately three days after a group of Misurasata were led into an ambush by a Miskito Creole believed to be an FSLN informant. Six Misurasata were reported KIA. The three officials were allegedly captured for their role in arranging the ambush.
