Recently while in Nicaragua I had the opportunity. of taking part in an
interview with. Ray Hooker, described by The. New York Times. as one of
the most distinguished citizens of Bluet'ields. As?you are no doubt
aware, Mr. Hooker.has since then been kidnapped. and apparently is being
held by . Eden Pastore and his group.
While I realize that relations between the-C.I.A. and the. Pastore
faction have apparently become rather strained, I urge you to do all.
in your power through. your agency to secure the. release of this dedi--
cated public servant and those held with. him.
