I appreciate your accepting the invitation to speak to the SIGNA group which will be meeting on 3 October 1985. I have scheduled your talk from 1545 - 1615 hours. The place will be either GA-13 (if the size. of the audience is 85 or below) or the Bubble (if the size is over 85). I will let Judy know how it turns out. 2. Thirty minutes is not a lot of time for an Agency Overview, but Jim McDonald will also be talking to them for 30 minutes before you come on and Jim will doubtless hit such housekeeping issues as: the new Headquarters Building; renovations going on now in this building; the changes going on and expected for the future in recruitment; and other DDA-oriented items. I would suggest that your talk hit four or five broad issues that will serve as points of contrast to retirees reflecting on how it used to be vs. how it is now. 3. Please don't feel constrained by these thoughts, but you might consider hitting these four topics in your presentation: -The "Casey style" in contrast to the DCIs of the past, -The growth phenomenon we have been experiencing in recent years; what along these lines can be expected in the foreseeable future, -The information explosion-revolution and where the computers and new telecommunications equipment are likely to lead the Agency in the future, and -The current state of the Agency's Congressional relationships. 4. I know you will find the SIGNA audience to be putty in your hands. They are a warm and friendly audience and totally supportive of everything we do. They also provide us with many favors and, therefore, programs like this continue to be, in my opinion, good investments.
