Mr. William J. Casey, Director
Central Intelligence Agency
Washington D.C. 20505
Dear Mr..Casey:
I was directed to contact your office by the local office of
Congress-woman Barbara Milkuskiregarding the following request.
I am researching for an article on Moe Berg, famous American
athelete, scholar and U.S. spy during World War 2.
Moe Berg served as a U.S.spy during the Roosevelt administration,
and was selected for this mission by General Wm. Donovan.,chief
of Office Stragetic Services (OSS). Earlier he served under
Nelson D. Rockerfeller,head of Intra-American Affairs(CI AA)
I understand that during his European missions, tracking down and
uncovering Hitlers atomomic weapontFy in progress , he was doing
undercover work for the CIA.
In order to assist me on my research, could your office furnish-
me with some non-classified-information regarding Mr. Berg's
-association with your division at-that time3
Thank you for your effort and cooperation. ---
