This is a follow-up note to the telephone
discussion on 24 October between Marvin Ott of
your staff and
be sure that the thrust of
Marvin is clear to you. There wasn't enough
time for careful review of the reports. As
a result., the review was only for the protection
of sources and methods-and should not be considered
approval by the Agency for declassifying
the documents. Moreover, the review should not
be taken to reflect agreement with the substance
of the reports, nor does it indicate our
concurrence in the release of the sanitized
version.
