SUBJECT : Conference on Europe in the Eighties
1. Attached is an up-to-date agenda of the April 5-6 Conference,
including a listing of the speakers and discussants The other conference
invitees will include academic specialists from the Washington area,
government analysts on European subjects, and selected policymakers.
2. The two-day discussions will be off the record and not for
attribution. This is essential if we are to create an atmosphere for a
frank and candid dialogue among government and non-government specialists.
3. It would be helpful to the discussants if the Speakers were to
provide us with a 2-3 page outline or summary of their opening statement
by the end of March, which we could distribute prior to the meeting.
These outines can be sent to:
National n e ig ce Council
Central Intelligence Agency
Washington, D.C. 20505
4. We are arranging a luncheon for all the panelists on April 5th at
the Foreign Service Club, across the street from the State Department
to join us for lunch
l
an
(2101 "E" Street).. Please let me know.if.youp
5. We look forward to seeing you in April.
