MEMORANDUM FOR: Chief, Policy and Plans Group, OS
VIA:
SUBJECT:
REFERENCE:
Deputy Director of Security
Physical, Technical and Area Security
Office of Security Government Vehicle
Survey
Memorandum from C/PPG/OS, dated 3 August 1981,
same subject
1. The referenced memorandum requests a survey to
revalidate the absolute needs for the use of vehicles within
Physical, Technical and Area Security. Presently, ISSG has one
assigned vehicle to serve the needs of approximately fifteen
people. The attachment to reference indicates the justification
for this vehicle is to "pick up output at the Headquarters
computer center."
2. I wish to be on record that the ISSG vehicle is used for
a number of reasons only one of which is to pick up output from
the Headquarters computer center. The mission of ISSG is such
that we are required to travel throughout the metropolitan area
wherever Agency automated information processing equipment is
located.
3. This requirement alone causes heavy use of the
government vehicle. Additionally, during the past several years,
ISSG has graciously shared its vehicle with Compartmented
Information Branch (CIB) personnel. On the basis of the above
stated usage, I feel that the single automobile assigned to ISSG
is more than justified.
