1. The Central Intelligence Agency has been informed that the
Joint Chiefs of Staff approved Annex "I" to US EUCOM JCP 1-54, subject
to certain detailed revisions and comments (Reference A). The Central
Intelligence Agency is in accord with the action taken by the Joint Chiefs
of Staff, and will undertake continued planning and preparation as appropriate.
2. The actions described in References B and C are being continued.
The CIA Senior War Planner, Europe, is collaborating closely with Head-
quarters US EUCOM regarding the development and refinement of require-
ments for CIA action. The results of these conversations should be
reflected in a status report from US CINCEUR as requested by the Joint
Chiefs of Staff in paragraph 1. b. of Reference A.
