1. We agree with the recommendation in reference A. The
knowledge gained from the MAXCON project will be applied to the
BARS in a stand alone configuration. This will provide
the following advantages:
a. Allow PASTCAST circuits to be picked up on
ARS buffered LTUs and eliminate the MTU non-avail-
ability problem.
b. Use the ARS VDUs for spill positions and
eliminate the spare parts problems with MAX's older
VDUs.
c. Either computer can operate independent of
the other and will provide greater system reliability
and flexibility.
d. Allow FND to handle new operational require-
ments until -IERCURY becomes available. II
2. Request members of our respective staffs meet to
discuss system configuration and implementation plans. Please
provide names to so that
a firm date for a meeting can be established.
