BILL CHRISTIAN: After investigating charges that the
CIA tried to influence its elections, the Canadian government
said it found no evidence of improper conduct on the part of the
US intelligence agency.
Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau ordered a secret
investigation after a document surfaced in Parliament alleging
CIA misconduct. The document charged that election campaigns and
individual candidates were financed by the agency in several
provinces.
