FRANK REYNOLDS: The Marines are going back, back to
Lebanon. This time to stay until the Lebanese themselves can
control their own country and prevent the kind of massacre
that so sickened and stunned the world this past weekend.
ABC News has learned that the CIA now estimates that
when and if all the bodies are counted, the death toll will
exceed 1,000. So President Reagan made his decision this morn-
ing and late this afternoon he announced it.
