SUBJECT Undercover Agents on Campuses
GORDON PETERSON: The CIA admits it uses American
students and professors as undercover agents on some college
campuses. But today a federal court said the CIA does not have
to reveal which schools are involved in its intelligence gather-
ing activities.
The court ruled against a student who wanted the CIA to
confirm or deny whether it had contacts at the University of
California. The student said he should be allowed to get that
information under the Freedom of Information Act. But the court
ruled it would be dangerous for the CIA to discuss its contacts.
Bill Kamal is here. Be careful of what you say. Some-
body may be listening.
