DAVID SCHOUMACHER: A New York judge has postponed
proceedings against the so-called subway vigilante. Bernhard
Goetz is accused of shooting four teenagers who allegedly
harassed him when they asked for five dollars on a New York
subway. The judge said proceedings against Goetz will be delayed
until next Wednesday to give prosecutors more time to prepare
their case against him.
A New York television station reported today that Goetz
was a contract employee for a U.S. intelligence agency and he
reportedly had a top government security clearance to work on
electronic systems for nuclear weapons.
