Re. Fifth Estate
1. The recent murder of Richard S. Welch,
Greece, has focussed attention on 7Ef'th Estate,
working to sabotage various US intelligence opei
charged with fingering Welch for assassination,i
listing his name In the two latest Issues of itF
ter-,15P711, on Page 50 of its Summer--Fall issue ar
sue. (See copies of both issues attached, and
2. Fifth Estate bluntly states its prim
"abolishment of the CIA" and (2) "support for C1
the Summer-Fall issue of "Counter-Sloy".

4. From a brief evaluation of available material and other evidence frarn
Fifth Estate sources, inolud$~ng interviews with two of its five principals
Winslow Peck and Eda Gordon). it is apparent that Fifth Estate, and Its spin-
offs, not only are targeted to damage or destroy US security operations, but al-
so that they are probably under Marxist control or operation. In addition, It
appears that the whole Fifth Estate setup has close ties with other leftist or
radical groups, some of than, at least, Communist controlled or infiltrated,

with Fifth Estate, its founder, at Suite 403, 2000 P St., N.W., Wash. DC 20036,
Telephone; 202/785/83850 .(Fifth Estate moved there recently from its previous
location: a cluttered office,,at 519 Dupont Circle B1dg,3Wash. DC 20036.)
II. "Fifth Estate Annual RE+port"(1974-75)-"growth", "research-land edu-
cation" and "Prospectus for 1975". This report also is found on Pages 53,54 &
55 of Winter issue of "Counter-Soy".
III. "Public Education Project on the Intelligence Comm'unit also lo-
cated in same suite suite with Fifth Estate and Intelligence Docurentation
Center, Suite 403, 2000 P St., NW, Wash. DC 20036. Winston Peck one of five
principals in Fifth Estate (listed in I. above),, claims speakers from this pro-
ject have appeared on"tzundreds" of 'US campuses in last two years, and presently
"about 150 people" are working in "research groups" on many campus es"studyiiig!
government abuses of power, specifically among security agencies, in their areas".
