STAT
1. I like this one and believe your attendance would earn
us some Brownie points.
2, who attended once, recalled that there
were about 20 persons present, mostly big ESQUIRE advertisers.
Tom was disappointed because ESQUIRE's working editors were
not present but found it pleasant, an informal off-the-record
question-and-answer session. He assumes it is given mainly to
impress the advertising clients who are attracted by advance
billing of the big-name guests.
3. I suspect that your presence would attract some of
the desk bound senior editors as well. They are the ones
particularly, to whom I would look for the Brownie points.
They never 'phone us for help or guidance.
4. If you decide to accept, may I 'phone Mr. Gingrich
to discuss dates on which they meet, where, and to confirm
the ground rules?
