4 Service With Tribune Co.

NEW YORK-Knight Newspapers Inc.
and Tribune Co. announced plans for a
supplemental news service containing up
to 250 stories and speciality columns a
week culled from papers run by the two
concerns as well as from The National Ob-
server, a Dow Jones & Co. weekly paper.
Dow Jones also publishes The Nall Street
Journal.
Knight, based in Akron, publishes a
chain of newspapers, and Tribune Co.
owns The Chicago Tribune and New York
News Inc., publisher of the Daily News in
New York City.
Knight and Tribune said the new ser-
vice, to begin operation July 2, had al-
ruady stirred "definite interest" from such
papers as the Los Angeles Times, the Bos-
ton Globe, the. Baltimore Sunpapers and
the Seattle Times. Headquarters of. the
wire service will be In Detroit.
