Dale -M. Johns, Central Di- vision manager in Chicago, will 1 transfer to New York head- 1 quarters and become business manager, North American de- partment. He will report to Frank Tremaine, vicepresident 1 and general manager of that de- partment. H. Calvin Thornton, North- eastern Division manager in Boston, will move to Chicago to be Central Division manager. Robert E. Page, based in Lon- don as sales manager for Eur- ope, Africa and the Middle East, will return to the U.S. and go to Boston as Northeastern Di- ,Vision manager. All appointments are effective June 1. Johns, 56, has been Central Division manager in Chicago since 1962. Previously he was Northeastern Division manager at Boston for eight years and before that division business manager In Chicago. He was ;born in Iowa Falls, Iowa, and was graduated from the Uni- versity of Nebraska. He joined graduated from the University of Chicago. He has been North- eastern Division manager jn Boston since 1962. He joined UPI in 1948 in Milwaukee and served as bureau manager in' Sioux Falls, Des Moines and Minneapolis before he became a UPI business representative in the Midwest. He was -Central Division business manager in, Chicago prior to his transfer to Boston. Page, 34, went to London in 1968 after previous experience as a general sales executive at UPI's New York headquarters. A native of Lincoln, Ill., he was graduated from -Illinois Wes- leyan University. He joined UPI in Des Moines in 1960. UPI in 1941 in Minneapolis after previous news experience on the Lincoln (Neb.)
