At a recent press function, I was introduced to a Mr. Oleg N. Yermishkin,
who identified himself as the Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Soviet
Union. Mr. Yermishkin invited me to have lunch with him and his press
couns.ellor.on Wednesday, February 2 to discuss the 1980 Olympics.
I have a natural reluctance to meet with the Russians but would be Inter-
ested in discussing business possibilities in connection with televising
the Olympics. -
Unless I hear from you to the contrary) I will meet with the Embassy rep-
resentatives as scheduled solely for the purpose of discussing the Olympic
television coverage. -
I would appreciate your placing this letter in the appropriate files. If
you have any questions or comments please let me hear from you.
Very truly yours,
Irvin M. Kipnes
