MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT Overseas Writers' Luncheon Invitation
At morning meeting, I mentioned an invitation from
~; ck.-n:~ 1 nff of t17~e Overseas Writers. This is a group
founded in 1921.
The leading foreign affairs correspondents attend
its occasional luncheons, e.g., Walter Cronkite of CBS,
Murrey Marder of the Washington -~Post, Dick Valeriani of
NBC, Bernard Gwertzman of The New-York Times and the AP
and UPI men.
They are interested in 10-20 minutes on the role of

About 60 persons would show up. You could have it on
background or on the record. I and one other person
are included in the invitation.
