OPC PROTESTS DENIAL ~
OF VISA TO RIESEL
A telegram protesting the denial by
Sudan of a visa to labor columnist Victor
Riesel was sent last week by OPC Pres-
ident Barrett McGurn.
Addressed to Prime Minister Ibraham
Abboud, McGurn's _telegram stated that
OPC members"have been dismayed" to
learn that Riesel had been unable to
visit Khartoum, Sudan, during his current
working tour of Africa and Europe.
According to Riesel's New York of-
fice, his visa had been issued on June
29, but he was unable to find -any repre-
sentatives in Dakar who could deliver
the visa. He also was unable to find out
if he could enter without a visa.
